Questions
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. Every tool runs in your browser, on your device, with our own PDF engine compiled to WebAssembly. Your PDFs are read and written right there and never sent to a server: not ours, not anyone’s.
Is pdf.place really free?
Yes. Every tool is free, with no account, no watermarks and no limits on file size or count beyond what your device can handle.
Does it work offline?
Yes, once loaded. Install pdf.place as an app (the Install button, where your browser offers it) and the tools keep working without a connection.
What are recent documents?
The PDFs you open and make here, kept on this device only (in your browser’s storage) so you can open them again or drag them into another tool. Remove any of them, or turn the list off, in Settings.
Can I use password-protected PDFs?
Yes. Enter the password and the tool works on the file in your browser, then gives it back with the same protection. The password never leaves your device.
